Most people worry about what happens in a swingers club. The real stress is somewhere else: what to wear. Too much and you feel like the only one in a dress. Too little and you feel like the only one without. This is how the dresscode works, what women and men wear, and what you're better off leaving at home.
What is a swingers club?
A swingers club (in Dutch: parenclub) is a club where couples and sometimes singles come to flirt, dance and, if they want, more. There's a bar, a dance floor and play areas. Nobody is obliged to do anything: watching, chatting and heading home on time is just as normal as joining in. Most clubs have regular nights and, in addition, themed parties where the dresscode is stricter.
How the dresscode works
The standard is sexy chic. For her: lingerie, a short dress, satin, lace, heels. For him: snug underwear, nice trousers, an open shirt or bare chest. At themed parties something is added: a colour (all white, red night), a material (latex, wetlook) or a role (schoolgirl, uniforms).
Important to know: you get changed in the club. Almost every swingers club has changing rooms and lockers. You arrive in regular clothes, put on your outfit inside and leave the rest behind. So what you wear on the street doesn't matter. What you wear inside does.
For her: three outfits that always work
1. Lingerie set with stockings and heels. The classic. A bra and briefs (or a 3-piece set with a suspender belt), high stockings and heels. Choose a set that fits well and that you can dance in. Lace and satin feel neat; mesh and sheer are a bit bolder.
2. Sheer bodysuit or lingerie dress. One piece, no fuss with straps. A bodysuit with an open back or a mini dress with a sheer neckline is complete with just a pair of heels. Great for a first time: you're dressed and clearly in dresscode.
3. Wetlook or leather look for themed parties. At a latex night or fetish theme, wear something with a shine: a PU leather lingerie set, a wetlook dress or hold-up stockings with a zip. How to wear and care for shiny clothing is explained in wetlook, latex and leather.
From our shop
- Sexy lingerie set with semi-sheer briefs – the starter set, fits well and costs little
- Elegant lingerie set, 3-piece – with suspender belt
- Mini dress with sheer neckline – dressed and still in dresscode
- Leather-look hold-up stockings with zip – for the latex night
For him: snug, on purpose
In a swingers club, men tend to dress too safe. Jeans with a shirt is not an outfit, it's what you'd wear during the day anyway. What does work:
- A snug boxer or brief in satin, mesh or leather look, with a bare chest or an open shirt. No wide cotton boxers.
- A sheer top with fitted black trousers or shorts.
- Leather-look trousers with a harness. At themed parties with shine or fetish.
Leave the sports socks at home. Go barefoot, in smart socks or in shoes without socks. More outfits in kinky clothing for men.
From our shop
- PU leather briefs with open bum – snug and eye-catching
- Sheer short top with long sleeves – mesh that feels dressed

First time at a swingers club? This helps
- Try your outfit on at home. Dance in it, sit down in it, walk up the stairs. A strap that irritates at home will irritate ten times more in the club.
- Choose comfort over spectacle. A set that fits well radiates more than one you keep adjusting all evening.
- Bring a layer. A kimono, a sheer cardigan or a cover-up set. You can take it off when you're ready.
- Heels you're used to. New heels in a new place is asking for blisters.
- Agree beforehand what you both do and don't want. That keeps the evening relaxed, whatever you're wearing.
What you're better off not wearing
- Jeans, sneakers, sportswear. Not in dresscode, and at many clubs you won't get in wearing them.
- Your everyday underwear. The difference between "underwear" and "lingerie" is noticed immediately.
- Jewellery with hooks or sharp edges. It catches on lace and mesh.
- Too much perfume. When you're close together, less is more.

Frequently asked questions
What is the dresscode at a swingers club?
Usually "sexy chic": lingerie, a short dress, lace or satin with heels for her; snug underwear, neat trousers and an open shirt or bare chest for him. At themed parties a colour, material or role is added. You get changed in the club.
Do you have to wear lingerie to a swingers club?
No, but it is the norm. A short dress, a bodysuit or a lingerie dress is just as good. What isn't allowed: everyday clothing such as jeans and sneakers.
What do men wear at a swingers club?
A snug satin, mesh or leather-look boxer or brief, with a bare chest or an open shirt. At themed parties, leather-look trousers with a harness or a wetlook outfit. No wide boxers and no sports socks.
Can you get changed at a swingers club?
Yes, almost every swingers club has changing rooms and lockers. You arrive in regular clothes and put on your outfit inside.
What do I wear to a themed party at a swingers club?
The basis stays sexy chic, with the theme on top: a colour (all white, red), a material (latex night, wetlook) or a role (schoolgirl). When in doubt, a black lingerie set with one theme accent is always a good choice.
